Athletes and Spectators Code of Conduct

ATHLETE AND SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

As an athlete participating in DimeHoops Basketball, I commit to the following:

1. Respect and Sportsmanship – I will treat coaches, teammates, opponents, referees, and spectators with respect at all times. – I will exhibit good sportsmanship, regardless of the outcome of the game, and will encourage my teammates to do the same.

2. Commitment and Responsibility – I will attend all practices, games, and team events punctually unless excused by my coach. – I will give my best effort during practices and games, striving to improve my skills and contribute positively to the team. – I will communicate any injuries or concerns to my coach promptly.

3. Teamwork and Collaboration – I will work cooperatively with my teammates, understanding that basketball is a team sport. – I will accept constructive criticism from my coaches and use it to improve my performance.

4. Conduct and Integrity – I will play by the rules and understand that cheating or using inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated. – I will maintain a positive attitude, regardless of challenges or setbacks.

5. Representation I understand that I represent DimeHoops Basketball both on and off the court and will act in a manner that upholds the values of the organization.

SPECTATOR CODE OF CONDUCT

As a parent, guardian or fan of a DimeHoops Basketball athlete, I commit to the following:

1. Support and Encouragement – I will encourage my child to do their best and to enjoy the sport, focusing on their effort and improvement rather than just the results. – I will offer positive support to all players, coaches, and referees, fostering an environment of respect and sportsmanship.

2. Respect for Coaches and Officials – I will respect the decisions made by coaches and referees, understanding that they have the best interests of the players in mind. – I will refrain from coaching or instructing my child or other players during games and practices, leaving the coaching to the team’s designated staff.

3. Communication and Involvement – I will communicate any concerns or questions to the coach or organization in a respectful and constructive manner. – I will keep informed of team events, schedules, and responsibilities, ensuring my child is prepared and on time.

4. Behavior and Conduct – I will refrain from using inappropriate language, gestures, or behavior during games and practices. – I understand that any form of physical or verbal abuse towards players, coaches, officials, or other parents will not be tolerated.

5. Support for DimeHoops Values – I will uphold the values and mission of DimeHoops Basketball, promoting a positive and inclusive environment for all participants. * anyone who fails to adhere to the code of conduct(s) is subject to penalties that include but are not limited to; suspension of any length, complete expulsion for an indefinite amount of time, exclusion from other DimeHoops programs and/or events.
